And of course, like many, I spent last night in awe while watching the opening ceremony for the winter olympics in Vancouver. I have never been to Vancouver but I would love to go one day. When I was young, we traveled to Calgary to see the 1989 Olympic village and it made me fall in love with the winter games. The most fantastic part of last night's show in my opinion was all of the Native culture and pictographs represented. It reminds me when when I used to draw similar characters as a teen and in college. I have lost many of the ink drawings I used to enjoy doing but, I did manage to scrounge a few of them up that I kept when we moved...(My favorite is the bear. I have always loved drawing bears)

i'm actually not a french major, just taking it for my language requirements. I choose french (instead of spanish) because there are so many bloggers from france that I adore. being friends with french speaking people on facebook and stuff has really helped... i now try to dissect the words i recognize! that's so sad your g-ma wanted to get away from her heritage so bad... i mean i understand times were tremendously different, but it would have been cool if you learned french when you were little... it's so much easier to learn when your mind is young!
